Grass - Photogrammetry based Environment Texture

Another approach to capture grass using photogrammetry. Since the grass needs a lot of geometry to be reconstructed, this time I decided to focus on smaller area for reconstruction - just 1 by 1 meter. The result isnt bad. Reconstruction was done in full 3D mode with the use of new Metashape algorithm. Source location with the 1 by 1 meter area  I covered marked. I decided to focus on smaller area since grass is way too detailed and 'eats' the polygon budget.

Metashape - full 3D reconstruction based on 93 images - took just 3 hours with the new Metashape algorithm. This algorithm works just with the Arbitrary mode with Depth Maps used as a source for reconstruction
