Soil - Photogrammetry based Environment Material

A material of raked soil I captured while experimenting with the AR400 flash light in tough lighting conditions. Because I used cross polarisation AR400 didnt output enough light to fully overwrite the direct sun. It wasnt bad but I had to delight the material with the 'BLACKS' feature in PhotoLab, but as you can see on the preview image it wasnt really a big deal.
I initially calibrated colors using the Color Checker but as usualy, cross polarisation messed with the luminance levels and I had to correct them later. I plan to share more details about the process in my incoming video about color calibration.
Since I believe that this material can be quite useful as a decent base for vegetation in any farm or garden related scenes, and I like its quality, I have added it to my environments material library
https://gum.co/WJAQy
as 'gb_SoilRaked307'. With this one, the library hit 80 materials mark.
To be honest, I didnt expect it is going to take me so much time to find surface like this one it such clean state :D
Cheers and till the next one :)

The source location and the capture setup. This image shows the location with the sun behind the clouds. If the light wouldnt change, these would be probably great light conditions for this capture. Unfortunately due to very strong wind it did many times

The source location - another shot taken to show weather inconsistency. This one is after the sun came out. It hapened many times during this capture and this is why I used AR400 flash to overwrite the sun light to some degree

The source - a close up reference shot with my shoe used as a scale reference. These shots can be very useful to setup or tweak the height map or roughness map later.

PhotoLab - initial color calibration. Since I used cross polarisation I didnt manage to provide enough light to fully overwrite the sun, so I used 'Blacks' feature to fix it. For those interested, camera settings for this capture are in top left corner

ZBrush - Lowpoly model alignment for baking. I applied projection on low poly plane so it follows the main shape of this surface curvature. I didnt go crazy with alignment as medium and small detals should be driven by the height map
