Pattern Design - Haemoglobin
Another procedural pattern reconstruction made in Substance Designer and rendered with Blender 4.2 (Cycles).
This one is based on Haemoglobin - pattern designed in 1951 by British textile designer - Arnold Lever for the Festival of Britain exhibition.
The Festival of Britain celebrated the centenary of the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace as well as the best of Britain’s art, design, technology and science. The idea of the actual pattern is based on the crystal structure diagram of haemoglobin molecule produced by X-ray crystallography - which was found using this technique by British biochemist, Max Perutz (1914-2002).
