Due to crazy weather conditions and strong wind, I decided to capture something easier than grass or sand and picked tarmac surface instead. It was definitely good choice, easy peasy ;) and really fun to make.
To capture 2 square meters of tarmac I took 40 images and generated 53 mln highpoly model.
Cause it was to heavy to handle on my laptop, I generated also small, just 2 mln polygon mesh to use it as base for lowpoly model in Zbrush. Baked using heavy version in Substance Designer. Texture was manually tiled in Substance Painter and processed to get final result in Substance Designer.
I modified my foregoing Substance Designer graph and improved Equalizer section to be more handy for removal and fixing color inconsistency - in that case especially weird square bright patches. These were caused by slight light changes during capture coming from fast moving clouds.
