Flat surface of rock I captured using photogrammetry workflow. I exaggerated all values to get a bit more dramatic feeling.
To scan surface I simply used small stone I found outside. Because I was interested only in flat surface I took just 10 images (see preview) from one side to process them in Photoscan. Because surface was pretty small, the biggest challenge was to capture it as sharp as possible and fill as much screen as possible without any distorsion or blur. To make it I had to use tripod and high aperture values. I show it's scale in worflow sheet. After I got high poly model, I imported it into zbrush to draw low poly model with Topology brush over it's surface. When done, I baked and tweaked normal, albedo and ambient occlusion maps in Substance Designer. To tile texture I used 'Smart Auto Tile' node. Still have hope Allegorithmic will improve it soon, cause it seems to be the weakest step in my workflow now.
Finally for preview I used Barmoset Toolbag 3.
Glitches on UVs in preview are caused by Toolbag3 - its under Marmoset's investigation. Texture tiles perfectly.
